Abstract
This is a summary of the program for decommissioning of all the CEA’s Licensed Nuclear Facilities in Fontenay-aux-Roses. The particularity of this center is now that it is located in a built-up area. The operations to clean up the equipment of the Nuclear Licensed Facility 57 (NLF 57) are presented as an example. Due to the diversity of the research and development work carried out on the reprocessing of spent fuel in it, this installation is emblematic of many of the technical and organizational issues liable to be encountered in the final closure of nuclear facilities. A method was developed and applied to establish the multi-annual budget, monitor the progress of operations and integrate “as work continues” the operating feedback.
